salt watercolor

salt watercolor painting

a technique used to create organic forms in watercolors, you first lay down a base of just water and then a loose layer of watercolor paint over that, then you can use table salt, rock salt, sea salt or a mixture and sprinkle it over the watercolor paint. while drying the paint will suck up all of the water and leave beautiful organic forms in the watercolor paint.
